LaQueishia graduated from University of Illinois at Chicago in 2019 with her Master's in Occupational Therapy and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with her bachelors in Community health with a concentration in rehabilitation & disability studies in 2017.
Biography
She started caregiving at a senior living community with 8 residents under her care. It was here she developed a love for seniors and a heart for helping others. Having compassion, caring, and responsibility helped her experience what caring for someone really means and how much the help she offered impacted the residents and their families.
During her master’s program, LaQueishia was a personal care assistant to provide home care services for a person with a physical disability. LaQueishia learned a lot about the importance of home care services and how in-home services is the the best way to provide care in an individual’s natural environment. It is essential for clients to be able to live in the comfort of their home while simultaneously receiving the assistance they need. After her masters program, she went on to provide home health occupational therapy services for pediatric and adult clients. LaQueishia also has occupational therapy experience in schools and outpatient/clinics.
